Huzzah! Nic informs me that the "Lasalle Packs" are now available from the AB/Eureka website. Now you can just do a one-click purchase of a "Grenz Battalion" or "Light Dragoon Regiment," and so on, and you'll get all the figures you need, including command, and even a little casualty figure to make that unit's DISR marker.
The AB/Eureka "Lasalle Packs" are (officially) here!

Probably easier in the USA to order here: http://www.eurekaminusa.com/
I can't rave enough about the service I got from Robert Walter. Ordered online Thursday & recieved the minis Saturday morning just in time to start my new project as 23" of snow got dumped on me here in Philadelphia.

Yeah, Rob's awesome.
And he's got some new Lasalle Packs now, too, including some of the minor powers like Saxony and Bavaria.

I started ordering them like crazy. I really can't say enough good things about the service or the quality of AB miniatures either. Place an order, and 3 days later it's in my mailbox. Can't really beat that. 3 Orders, multiple packs and singles, and everything arrived quickly and perfectly.
I'm now a 100% convert to, and fan of, AB/Eureka and Rob.

They also have Empire of the Petal Throne minis. Which makes them extra cool as a company.

I can't say enough nice things about Rob and the exceptional service he provides.

How do they compare in size to Essex figures? Most of my Napoleonic's are Essex. I wouldn't mix them within a unit but do them as separate units.

Hi Tomwise,
THe AB figures are generally taller. You can compare them with Essex (and everybody else for that matter) here:

I have to say I don't think AB and Essex would be a particularly good mix - even as separate units. But that's just an opinion!

I haven't any of those figures, although I am planning on buying some AB's when I decide which forces I'm going to use, but I've been reading this site:

which has some good comparisions.Posted 2 years ago # -

Essex end to be dwarfish in my opinion. AB are taller & thinner - definitely using all 18mm.

I must admit that I also ordered some of the 25mm Flying Monkeys with Fezzes from Eureka when I ordered. Why? Just because...who else would make minis from the Wizard of OZ!

Thanks for the link. I think I'll be switching. The price is the same for AB and Essex.

Tom, just a gut feeling, but being somewhat familiar withyour style and technique from the FoW forums, I think you will be really happy with the ABs. Lot's of really good detail to pick out and fantastically proportioned. I have to remind myself when I'm painting them that if I keep working on them like my 28mms I'll never finish...there's just so much there that one could really go all out painting them.

@stecal
I see you're in Philadelphia. So am I.
I'm looking to play Lasalle but don't know anyone else interested.
If you'd be willing to play with a newbie (I guess we're all newbies, but you know what I mean) drop me a line a k.portner@verizon.net
Thanks.Posted 2 years ago # -
How do the AB figures compare in size to the Old Glory 15mm Napoleonic figures?

*How do the AB figures compare in size to the Old Glory 15mm Napoleonic figures?*
Very close to the same and you can belnd if desired although the AB are a bit more "wooden" (sort of like Foundry compared to Elite in 28's) compared to OG 15's (which are actually 18's)

I think you'll find that AB is bigger than the older OG figures such as the French infantry in overcoats, Austrians in helmets etc. They are roughly equal in size to later OG ranges such as the 1809 French infantry in full dress, Austrians in shakos, Prussians etc.

You could probably mix them on a single stand, and they wouldn't look bad. I just recently got some newer OG Highlanders, and they are MUCH smaller. However, if I shim them up with some .030 styrene, their eyelines match up pretty close to the AB figs. I wouldn't want to mix them, but they can certainly fight each other.
