I've been over at General de Brigade (Gasp) where I saw pictures of a 15mm Hougoumont game played with a 10mm model. Now gentlefolk I could not at first tell the difference until the thread mentioned this fact. There was also talk of the "footprint problem."
Now since I'm always looking for ways to compenste for my famous 41 inch bt 64 inch dining room table and because I belong to the OG Army (40% off) I'd like to see if anyone here has a 10mm Hougomont from OG25s and what it might measure length and width.
OG25 can't tell me because they are on the road servicing those conventions you fellows frequent so often.
But you see I used to subscribe to Napoleon the successor to Empire Eagles and Lions and in number 7 there is an OB with discussion about arrival times for that malestrom at Hougoumont. And it's a lot easier to work from that than digging around the books I have on Waterloo trying to design a scenario for the attacks ON La Haye Sainte and the sand pit (not NEAR it). Yes I know there was or is a book out there but OMM doesn't have it.
Oh and I have this pile of 15mm (not everything I own 5mm Sam "horses? I thought they were gerbles")for NB Waterloo (well, NB at 66%). And I'd like to use them along with the other stuff I might need to, buy (choke).
But a 15mm Hougomont will just fit the table without enough extra room for the French who you will remember were there. All I know is that the 10mm can be put together with the carriage house as the south gate and that the 15mm (twice as expensive without the formal garden wall) is using the "Alamo" set up on their site with the carriage house on the West side and I'm not sure it's pieces will fit together the "right way." But we can only play the Alamo (25mm SAR) on the garrage floor in March (fitting I guess) and November & December.
So if any of you gentlefolk have the mesurements of that 10mm Hougoumont, I would surely appreciate the information, so I could stop doing some things and concentrate on others.
Thank you.
