I have a similar question about pretty much the same thing but have noticed that this thread ended a couple of months ago. So, here goes my attempt to revive it! Can a unit, completely in the woods, charge another unit, completely out of the woods, provided they have enough movement (with the rough terrain penalty) to reach it? In this particular case, a very clever commander sent the lone French dragoon battalion (with a sub commander) around the rear of his opponent's force and used the cover of the woods to approach and charge the opposing artillery, which was using the very woods to 'protect' it from just such an action. After a quick look in the book, we determined that the rules did not seem to forbid such an action and moved on. A little more clarification from Mr. Mustafa, or anyone else who has received such clarification before, would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I too like the 1BW idea!
