WI270 has a list in the editorial of 'forthcoming attractions'. Amongst these Sam is referenced for an issue themed around an aspect of Napoleonic gaming.
Sam - any chance of some spilt-beans?

It's just an article I wrote for them on the Westphalians. I take the example of a particular officer and follow his career through Hessian, Prussian, Westphalian, and Russian service. There are a couple of little mini-scenarios, too.
One of these days I'm going to write a book on Westphalia. I found a treasure trove of untouched archival resources on it when I was researching my Schill book in 2003-07.
Damn, I was hoping for a Sam themed issue. I've not been impressed with the last few issues of WI. The whole themed issue thing is missing the mark for me most issues. Can you not convince them to do a Napoleonic/Lasalle themed issue?
Andy
Well, I wasn't trying to convince them to devote an entire issue to me, and what's that other guy's name... you know, the little Corsican dude.... ach, it's on the tip of my tongue....
But seriously, they just asked me if I could contribute to their Napoleonic-themed issue, and I've done a lot of research on Westphalia in recent years, so I proposed that.
So, when are we going to see a Westphalian Army list? I got VIII Corps all dressed for the party and no date :-(

have to agree here. really gone of the boil since the take over, nice format but for my taste seems to be a bit to promotional in regard to FOW which i suppose should be expected now under the same flag.
Guyot - I thik in the transitional period they can be forgiven for drawing on an accessible pool of articles whilst sorting out other issues. It seems a much more professional operation now - and I say that having known Duncan Macfarlane for many years. They have applied considerable time and energy.
I don't think the charge of too much FoW sticks given the recent content/focus of the last half-dozen issues. The next issue is on Anzio, so I'll forgive them if there are one or two FoW articles in that.
Anyhow - back to Lasalle. It seems unlikely that Sam could persuade them to do a Lasalle-centric issue [or any other set of rules], even if he wanted to. They would I suggest be more inclined to accept a campaign or nation as a focus and have contributions from a range of people.
