   Quick question on woods.

   Based on previous answers I always assumed that woods didn't block line of sight but that it prevented troops in regular formation from firing through them. That is why irregular troops in woods could fire while in woods but could not be fired upon.

   However what would be the right interpretation for artillery ? I know the part that if a basewidth of the woods is in the way then you used reduced range, but what about units fully inside woods, when do you stop seeing them. I guess artillery cannot fire at a unit it cannot see because it is fully behind woods, but what if the unit enters the woods, is it now seen or at what point would it be seen ?

   Any ideas or guidelines on this ?

   I may be wrong, and don't claim to be an expert, but I would assume that Art would act like regular troops for shooting at troops in woods. Troops in woods would be target-able at the edge but not if truly in. The same is true for blocking shooting if they are behind the woods.

   Irregulars have no formal formation and thus have much greater flexibility to see targets and shoot in this type of terrain. Thus also means it's much harder to really hurt them via shooting for the same random and spread out formation.

   Others may see this differently though.

   I actually found it on page 51 ( last paragraph ). If totally blocked then only targets on the edge can be attacked.

   I missed it the first time I read it and until it came out I never looked at it again.

   So it is pretty straight forward...
